Cherrapunji day trip itinerary
- Start your day tour to Cherrapunji early in the morning at around 6:00 - 7:00 AM from Guwahati. It takes around 4 - 5 hours to reach Cherrapunji.
- Take a break at Umiam Lake, a popular spot known for its calm waters and beautiful surroundings. It's a great place to click photos before continuing the trip.
- On the way, visit Elephant Falls, a famous three-layered waterfall near Shillong. Walk down the steps to get different views of the falls. After that proceed to Sohra or Cherrapunji.
- Once you reach Cherrapunji, stop at Mawkdok Dympep Valley. The valley is a must-see with its breathtaking views, perfect for nature lovers and photographers.
- Next, visit the Seven Sister Falls, one of the top attractions in Cherrapunji.
- Next, explore Mawsmai Cave, a famous limestone cave with interesting rock formations. It’s an easy walk through the cave and perfect for adventure seekers.
- In between enjoy a symptoms lunch at Orange Roots Resort, a well-known restaurant near Cherrapunji. Enjoy a delicious vegetarian meal and relax for a while.

My son and I had a great wildlife trip in Northeast India organized by Nexplore Travel. In Assam we went to four National Parks.
