Lovely experience for me and my family.
We did a 10 day tour with my parents visiting Kaziranga, Tawang, Meghalaya in our trip.
Mr. Manash who was our point of contact from Nexplore is a very polite gentleman who made this awesome trip possible for us. He helped us design a custom itinerary suiting our schedule and booked excellent accommodations. The person who drove us throughout the trip, Mr. Ganesh, was also a very pleasant person to travel with.

Beautiful, flexible and fun
We booked this trip last minute (~week prior) and were immediately helped with scheduling tours of the Kaziranga park and major attractions. Anushila picked us up at the airport in the most welcoming way, and I was able to eat tasty onion pakora with her while I waited for my friend's flight to arrive.
They adjusted the tour for our requests to see a tea plantation and the city where most silk production occurs, Sualkuchi. Both of these were excellent additions and allowed us to witness the strength and beauty in Assamese craft. Our trip to Kaziranga was perfect ..

FAQ on Meghalaya Trip
No. Indian nationals do not require any permit to visit Meghalaya — it is one of
the most accessible states in Northeast India. Foreign nationals also do not need
a special permit; a valid passport and Indian visa are sufficient for all major
tourist destinations including Shillong, Cherrapunji, Mawlynnong, Dawki, and
Nohkalikai Falls. However, foreign nationals are advised to carry photocopies of
their passport and visa at all times.
October to April is the best time to visit Meghalaya. The weather is cool and
pleasant, waterfalls are full from the preceding monsoon, and roads are in good
condition. November to March is ideal for clear skies and comfortable trekking to
Dawki, the Double Decker Living Root Bridge, and Mawlynnong village. November
and December are especially popular for the Cherry Blossom festival and the
clean, crisp air. Meghalaya receives some of the highest rainfall in the world
during the monsoon (June to September) — while the landscape is dramatically
lush and waterfalls are at peak volume, roads to Dawki and Mawsynram can
become difficult to navigate, so monsoon visits require flexible planning.
Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, is approximately 100 km from Guwahati and
takes about 3 hours by road via the NH6 highway. The nearest airport is
Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, which is connected
to all major Indian cities. Shillong also has a small domestic airport at
Umroi (about 30 km from the city centre), though flight options are limited.

Mawlynnong in South Meghalaya is widely regarded as the cleanest village in Asia. Located about 90 km from Shillong and just 1 km
from the Bangladesh border, the village is home to the Khasi tribe and is known
for its immaculate pathways, living root bridge in nearby Rewai vilage, bamboo sky walkway with views into Bangladesh. It is one of the most visited
attractions in Meghalaya and is typically covered as part of the Dawki–Mawlynnong
day route on our 6-day and 7-day Meghalaya tour packages.
The Double Decker Living Root Bridge near Nongriat village in Cherrapunji is one
of Meghalaya's most iconic attractions — a natural bridge formed by training the
roots of rubber fig trees over generations by the War Khasi people. Reaching it
requires a moderately strenuous 6–7 km round-trip trek involving approximately
3,000 steps down and back up. The trek takes about 3–4 hours total. It is not
recommended for senior travellers or those with knee problems. Nexplore includes
this trek as an optional add-on to our Cherrapunji day itineraries.
Yes. Dawki is one of Meghalaya's most spectacular destinations — a small border
town in India Bangladesh border. where the Umngot River runs so crystal clear that boats appear to float in mid-air. Boat rides on the Umngot River are available and are the main attraction.
The water is clearest between October and April; by the monsoon season the river
rises and loses its clarity. Dawki is about 82 km from Shillong and is usually
combined with a visit to Mawlynnong on the same day.

comfortably cover Kaziranga National Park (Assam) and the key highlights of Assam
