Day 01 Guwahati - Nameri     6 hrs   245 km

Nameri National park | tour to tawang arunachal pradesh Upon your arrival at Guwahati airport or railway station, our representative will welcome you and take you to Nameri National Park, which is situated in the Sonitpur district of Assam. The journey to the park takes about six hours (245 km). Once you arrive, you can check in to a resort and unwind for the night.

Nameri: Nameri National Park, located in Assam, is a breathtaking sanctuary celebrated for its remarkable variety of bird and animal species, including the rare white-winged wood duck. Immerse yourself in the park's natural splendor by embarking on an early morning walking tour. Indulge in the sights and sounds of this captivating national park, surrounded by pristine wilderness and the enchanting melodies of bird songs.

Nameri National park remain closed in summer months from May - October. We provide alternate stays at Bhalukpong during that time.

Day 02 Nameri - Dirang     5 hrs   170 km

At around 10'o clock have your breakfast and then set off for the beautiful Dirang valley which is a 170 km journey. We drive through Pristine Rupa and Tenga valley where the river Jia Bhoroli will flow along us making a memorable journey for a lifetime.

Dirang: Located on the bank of river Kameng, Dirang is a charming town surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. In Dirang, you can witness the unique blend of Tibetan and Monpa cultures. Explore the local monasteries and lush valleys on your tour.

On reaching check in at hotel and later local visit in the small town of Dirang.

Enroute visit Bhalukpong a picturesque town situated in the foothills of Himalaya and in Assam-Arunachal Border, Later see the Lumun waterfall and Tipi orchidarium.

Day 03 Dirang - Tawang     5 - 6 hrs   135 km

Dirang valley | Tawang Dirang Guwahati tour On day 4 of Guwahati Tawang Tour, wake up in the midst of nature's beauty, enjoy breakfast and then set off for the journey to Tawang.

Enroute visit TDL Buddhist Monastery. After that cross the Sela Tunnel and Sela Pass. You can spend some time near the Sela Lake and experience the serenity of the view. Later visit the Jaswant Garh war memorial as a tribute to the great soldier Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat who fought bravely in 1962 Indo China war and continue the journey to Tawang. On reaching, check in to a hotel and take rest for the night and gear up for the next day.

Tawang: You have to reach Tawang driving through the majestic Sela Pass, one of the high-altitude mountain pass in India. It is known as the "Heaven on Earth" for its spectacular view of the snow covered mountains and the sun rays kissing the mountaintop will give you a view of an eternity.

Day 04 Tawang: Local visit

Tawang monastery main attraction of our Tawang PackageOn Day 4 of our tour we will visit the local attractions in Tawang. After having breakfast, we will visit the largest monastery in India and second largest monastery in Asia Tawang Monastery. The monastery has a three-storied assembly hall and a spectacular golden statue of Lord Buddha. It also houses a big library and ancient museum showcasing Buddhist paintings, ceremonial masks etc. Perched at an elevation of about 10,000 feet, the monastery offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. After some blissful time in the monastery, we will visit Ani Gompa which is perched on the top of a beautiful hill overlooking the deep valley.

After that, we will visit Tawang War Memorial and commemorate the Sacrifice done by the Brave Indian Soldiers during the 1962 Indo-China War, Buddha Park to see the Giant Buddha statue and Urgelling Gompa - birthplace of 6th Dalai Lama.

In the evening enjoy light and sound show at Tawang War Memorial or spend some leisure time in your hotel.

Day 05 Tawang - Bumla Pass(35 km)

Tawang package tourToday morning wake up and enjoy a hot cup of tea in midst of the chilly weather and boost up for the visit to Bumla Pass the most exciting destination in your Arunachal Pradesh trip. The road to Bumla is very exciting, pass through snow covered mountains and frozen lakes in winter.

It is 38km(2.5 hrs) away from Tawang and situated on the Indo-China border at 15200ft above sea level. Apart from giving you a sneak-peek of its history of Indo-Sino War, it gives wonderful view of snow capped mountains. It is an Army restricted area so permit and pass to visit is required in advance.

Enroute, we visit exquisite highest altitude lakes Madhuri Lake(Sangetsar Lake), Panga Teng Tso Lake, (P.T. Tso Lake) and Nagula Lake. Sangetsar Lake has a beautiful walking trial and a small canteen maintained by India army which serves delicious food.
By evening return to Tawang and relax for the night in your hotel.

Day 06 Tawang - Bomdila     8 hrs   180 km

Bomdila monasteryThis morning have an early breakfast and start our return journey towards Bomdila(181km). Enroute visit breathtaking Jung waterfall(Nuranang falls).

Bomdila: It is a small town which is the headquarters of the West Kameng district. Set amongst the mighty Himalayas at an altitude of 2530m above sea level it gives the most picturesque view.

On reaching Bomdila check in at hotel for some refreshment. Later visit Bomdila Monastery(Upper Gompa). These Buddhist Gompas give you a sneak peek of the traditions of Buddhism. You can also visit the local market and check out beautiful Tibetan-style trinkets and other stationaries.

In the evening, return back to hotel and relax for the night.

Day 07 Bomdila - Guwahati    7 - 8 hrs   270 km

Today we start our return journey back to Guwahati via Kalaktang and Shergaon enjoying the beautiful surrounding. The whole journey will take around 7 - 8 hrs depending on weather and road conditions. On reaching we will drop you at Guwahati Airport/railway station according to your convince. With a lots of sweet memories your Arunachal tour ends here.

  • Less than 07 days before the commencement of the tour: 100% of the tour cost will be levied. No refund is entitled "for no-shows".

The best month to visit Tawang is October to December which covers the winter season. During this time roads are clear and safe from heavy rain or heavy snowfall. You can also attend annual Tawang festival during this time which generally held in the last week of October.

You can see heavy snowfall in Tawang from December to February. Generally, snowfall starts in Tawang reason from the beginning of November till April. Some times road stuck due to heavy snowfall in these month. So it's advisable to contact your agent in advanced before starting your tour.

You need to pack light to heavy woollen depending on the month of visit. During winter heavy woollen, scruff, woollen cap, warm shoes and socks are required.

In summer months it is good to carry light woollen cloths and an umbrella or raincoat/ poncho. Carry shocks or any comfortable shoes with you.

Drive to all the mentioned places by private vehicle as per itinerary. We will provide you an Innova or Sedan car as requested. To visit Bumla Pass and Madhuri Lake you need to take a local vehicle.

You can visit Tawang from Guwahati via Tezpur -Bhlukpung - Bomdila highway which takes around 9-10 hrs to reach Bomdila or by the Trans Himalayan Highway through Guwahati - Ornag - Kalaktang - Rupa - Bomdila. which takes around 8 hrs to reach Bomdila.
