Tawang Tour Itinerary 7 Days
Day 01 Guwahati - Nameri 6 hrs 245 km
Upon your arrival at Guwahati airport/ railway station, our representative will welcome you and start your Tawang tour package from Guwahati. On the first day we take you to Nameri National Park or Bhalukpong. The journey to the park takes about six hours (245 km). After reaching Nameri, check in to a resort and unwind for the night.
Nameri: Nameri National Park, located in Assam, is a breathtaking sanctuary celebrated for its ore than 300 species of birds and animals, including the rare 'white-winged wood duck'. Immerse yourself in the park's natural splendor by embarking on an early morning walking tour. Post that you can enjoy river rafting in Jia Bhoroli river.
Nameri National park remains closed in the summer months from May - October. We provide alternate stays at Bhalukpong during that time.

Day 02 Nameri - Dirang : Trekking at Nameri and Tipi orchidarium 5 hr. 170 km
On the second day of our Tawang package tour, wake up early morning and go for a walking tour in Nameri National Park. Post that have your breakfast and then set off for the beautiful Dirang valley which is a 170 km journey. We drive through Pristine Rupa and Tenga valley where the river Jia Bhoroli will flow alongside us making a memorable journey for a lifetime. Enroute stop at Tipi orchidarium and large verities of orchids.
Dirang: Located on the bank of river Kameng, Dirang is a charming town surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. In Dirang, you can witness the unique blend of Tibetan and Monpa cultures. Explore the local monasteries and lush valleys on your tour.
On reaching check in at hotel and later local visit in the small town of Dirang.

Day 03 Dirang - Tawang : visit Dirang monastery 5 - 6 hr. 135 km
Today morning, enjoy breakfast and then set off for the journey to Tawang.
Enroute visit TDL Buddhist Monastery (Thupsung Dhargye Ling Monastery) one of the largest monastery in Arunachal Pradesh. After that drive to Tawang via Sela Pass, the second highest pass in India at an altitude of 13,700 ft. You can play with snow near the snow covered Sela Lake during winter. Later visit the Jaswant Garh war memorial as a tribute to the great soldier Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat who fought bravely in the 1962 Indo China war. After that visit stunning Jung waterfall(Nuranang Falls). On reaching Tawang, check in to a hotel and take rest for the night and gear up for the next day.

Day 04 Tawang: Local sightseeing
On Day 4 of our tour we will visit the local attractions in Tawang. After having breakfast, we will visit the largest monastery in India and the second largest monastery in Asia Tawang Monastery. The monastery has a three-storied assembly hall and a spectacular golden statue of Lord Buddha. It also houses a big library and an ancient museum showcasing Buddhist paintings, ceremonial masks etc. Perched at an elevation of about 10,000 feet, the monastery offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. After some blissful time in the monastery, we will visit Ani Gompa which is perched on the top of a beautiful hill overlooking the deep valley.
After that, visit Buddha Park to see the giant lord Buddha statue and enjoy panoramic view of the Tawang Chu valleys and snow-capped mountains from the top. Post that explore Tawang War Memorial and pay tribute to the brave soldiers of the 1962 Indo-China War, Craft Emporium and buy local handicraft and Urgelling Gompa - the birthplace of 6th Dalai Lama.
In the evening enjoy light and sound show at Tawang War Memorial or stroll around the local market.

Day 05 Tawang - Bumla Pass(35 km) and Sangetsar Lake
Today morning visit Bumla Pass the most exciting destination in your Arunachal Pradesh trip. The road to Bumla is very exciting, pass through snow covered mountains and frozen lakes in winter.
It is 38km(2.5 hr) away from Tawang and situated on the Indo-China border at 15200 ft above sea level. Apart from giving you a sneak-peek of its history of Indo-Sino War, it gives wonderful view of snow capped mountains. It is an Army restricted area so permit and passes to visit is required in advance.
Enroute, we visit exquisite highest altitude lakes Madhuri Lake(Sangetsar Lake), Panga Teng Tso Lake (P.T. Tso Lake) and Nagula Lake. Sangetsar Lake has a beautiful walking trail and a small canteen maintained by India army which serves delicious food.
By evening return to Tawang and relax for the night in your hotel.
Note: Visiting Bumla pass is depend on weather and season. Contact us in advance if you want to include Bumla pass in your itinerary. If Bumla pass is not accessible we will take you to Madhuri Lake and other nearby lakes.

Day 06 Tawang - Bomdila 8 hr. 181 km
Today morning have an early breakfast and start your return journey towards Bomdila(181km). Post that visit Sangti Valley/Chug valley located about 15 km from Dirang and enjoy the fresh air and scenic river bank. After that proceed to Bomdila.
Bomdila: It is a small town which is the headquarters of the West Kameng district. Set amongst the mighty Himalayas at an altitude of 2530m above sea level it gives the most picturesque view.
On reaching Bomdila check in at hotel for some refreshment. Later visit Bomdila Monastery(Upper Gompa). You can also visit the local market and check out beautiful Tibetan-style trinkets and other stationaries.
In the evening, return back to hotel and relax for the night.

Day 07 Bomdila - Guwahati 7 - 8 hrs. 270 km
Today is the last date of your Tawang Guwahati tour packages. We start our return journey back to Guwahati and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The whole journey will take around 7 - 8 hrs. depending on weather and road conditions. On reaching we will drop you at Guwahati Airport/railway station according to your convince. With lots of sweet memories your Tawang tour ends here.

- 30 days before the commencement of the tour: 10% of the tour cost will be levied.
- 15 days before the commencement of the tour: 25% of the tour cost will be levied.
- Less than 15 days before the commencement of the tour: 50% of the tour cost will be levied.
- Less than 07 days before the commencement of the tour: 100% of the tour cost will be levied. No refund is entitled "for no-shows".

It was great all around
My son and I had a great wildlife trip in Northeast India organized by Nexplore Travel. In Assam we went to four National Parks. We saw elephants, rhinos, water buffalo, monkeys etc. It was great all around. Our driver was perfect. Flawless travel.
