Day 01 Arrival in Guwahati – Transfer to Kaziranga National Park (204 km/4.5 hours)

Your Assam Meghalaya tour begins with your arrival in Guwahati, where our representative will greet you and assist in your transfer to Kaziranga National Park. Upon reaching Kaziranga, check into your hotel and unwind. In the evening, enjoy a cultural dance performance at Orchid Park, showcasing the traditional dance of different tribes of Assam. Day 02 Kaziranga National Park – Wildlife Safari Experience

Wake up early for an exciting elephant safari in Kaziranga’s central range, offering a close encounter with the majestic one-horned rhinoceros, Asiatic elephants, swamp deer, and a variety of bird species. After breakfast, visit the Kaziranga Orchid and Biodiversity Park, home to over 600 species of orchids. A cultural center, traditional food hut, a mini-museum and cactus park etc also exist in the same campus. In the afternoon, set out for a jeep safari in the park, where you might spot wild buffalos, hog deer, and even a Royal Bengal Tiger if lucky. Enjoy an evening at leisure.

Day 03 Kaziranga to Shillong (270 km/6 -7 hours)

After breakfast, bid farewell to Kaziranga and embark on a scenic drive towards Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, known as the "Scotland of the East." En route, stop at the picturesque Umiam Lake (Barapani lake), where you can soak in the breathtaking views or opt for a boat ride. Upon reaching Shillong, check into your hotel and explore the charming cafes or local markets in Police Bazaar.

Day 04 Shillong to Cherrapunji (55 km/2 hours)

Post breakfast, drive towards Cherrapunji (Sohra), one of the wettest places on Earth. En route, visit the stunning Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint for panoramic views of the lush green hills. Explore Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls, the tallest plunge waterfall in India. Next, visit the fascinating Mawsmai Cave, a limestone cave filled with dramatic stalactite and stalagmite formations. If time permits visit Eco park, Arwah cave etc. Enjoy the evening amidst the serene beauty of Cherrapunji.

Day 05 Cherrapunji to Mawlynnong (81 km/2.5 hours)

Morning after breakfast, embark on a scenic journey to Mawlynnong, the cleanest village in Asia. Upon arrival in Mawlynnong, explore the village’s beautiful bamboo houses, clean streets, and eco-friendly lifestyle. Walk on the fascinating Living Root Bridge, a unique structure naturally formed by intertwining tree roots. Post that visit Dawki, where you can experience a boat ride on the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River. The surreal transparency of the river makes it seem like the boats are floating in the air. Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and spend the night in a basic homestay at Mawlynnong Village.

Day 06 Mawlynnong to Shillong & return to Guwahati

Early morning after breakfast drive back to Shillong. Enroute visit Laitlum Canyon. On reaching local visit in Shillong and explore the Don Bosco Museum, Ward's Lake, Shillong Cathedral etc. In the afternoon drive back to Guwahati.

Day 07 Kamakhya Temple Visit – Departure from Guwahati

On the last day of your Assam Meghalaya tour package, early morning after breakfast visit the revered Kamakhya Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas and a significant Hindu pilgrimage site. After seeking blessings, you will be dropped at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, marking the end of an unforgettable Assam Meghalaya family tour.
