Located on the valley of Brahmaputra and Borak river, Assam is a pristine land. It is a perfect holiday destination where you always feel touched with nature. Assam is not only known for its natural beauty and wildlife it is also famous for sprawling tea gardens and age-old tea bungalows. In our 8 days Assam tour package, we cover the Kaziranga and Dibru-Saikhowa National park, worlds smallest river island Majuli as well as heritage city Sivasagar.
We meticulous planned our Assam tour itinerary so that you cover the top tourist places of Assam.Elephant Safari and Jeep Safari in Kaziranga National park remain closed from May - October.
Day 1
Guwahati - Kaziranga National park
Upon your arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway station, a representative of NExplore Travel will greet and welcome you to Assam. Your tour will begin with a visit to Maa Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati. Afterward, we will take you on a 5-hour drive to Kaziranga National Park. Upon arrival at Kaziranga, you will check-in at a resort.

Day 2
Safari in Kaziranga National park
The second day of your tour will be the most memorable. You will have the opportunity to see wild animals up close on an Elephant ride early in the morning, including Rhinos, Wild Water Buffalo, Swamp Deer, and Wild Elephants. Kaziranga is also a paradise for bird lovers, hosting various bird species such as the lesser white-fronted goose, ferruginous duck, Baer's pochard duck, lesser adjutant, and more.
Following the safari, you will have breakfast at the resort and some time to rest. Later, you will visit the Kaziranga Orchid and Biodiversity Park. In the evening, you will embark on a Jeep Safari in the central range of the park.

Day 3
Kaziranga National park - Majuli
After having breakfast this morning, we will depart for Majuli Island, which is 110 km away. The journey will take approximately 2.5 hours by road followed by a 1-hour ferry ride. Upon reaching Majuli Island, we will check in at a traditionally built bamboo cottage. After some rest, we will head out to explore the tribal villages and the famous satras of Majuli Island. Our first stops will be the Mask Makers Satra (Samaguri Satra) and then the Kamalabari Satra, which is one of the oldest cultural centers on the island.

Day 4 Local visit in Majuli - stay in tea bungalow at Jorhat
In the morning, after breakfast, we will visit another prominent satra on Majuli Island called the Auniati Satra. This cultural center is home to more than 300 monks (bhakats) of different ages, ranging from 5 to 80. You will also have the opportunity to visit the old museum of Auniati Satra.
Following our visit to the satras, we will explore the tribal villages and the scenic river beach of Majuli Island. Afterward, we will take you to another hidden treasure of Majuli - the freshwater lakes, where you can observe birds up close.
In the afternoon, around 2:30 pm, we will return to Jorhat and spend the night at a heritage tea bungalow..

Day 5
Jorhat - local visit in Sivasagar - Dibrugarh
Today morning you will get the opportunity to visit the home of India's only ape species Hoolock Gibbons and Bengal Slow Loris in the Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary.
After visiting Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary drive to Sivasagar. (70 km, 1.5 hrs drive). Sivasagar is the bygone capital of Ahom dynasty. There you can witness monuments constructed by Ahom emperors and queens in the 17th century. We take you to Ranghar, Tolatol Ghar and ancient Sivadol temple and tank. Constructed in 1734 AD, Shivadol is one of the tallest Shiva temples of India.
Later drive to Dibrugarh.

Day 6
Dibrugarh - Tai-Phakey village - Dibru-Saikhowa National Park
Today we will experience another exciting part of your Assam tourism.
Today morning after breakfast drive to Tai-Phakey village. Tai Phakey or Namphake village is a Buddhist community village originates from Mynamar. They have maintained their culture and preserved their century-old traditions in their small village in their unique way.
After lunch at the village start towards Dibru-Saikhowa National Park and checkin at a houseboat.
In the evening we take you to one of the small river islands in Dibru Saikhowa and have a delicious snack and bonfire there. Which include smoked chicken, fried fish etc.
At night return to houseboat, have your dinner and rest for the night.

Day 7
Boat safari in Dibru Saikhowa National Park
Today morning we take you to an exhilarating boat safari in the Dibru-Saikhowa park. Dibru-Saikhowa park is a biodiversity hotspot encircled by river from both sides. You can see large no of birds and Gangetic River Dolphin here. The prime attraction of Dibru Saikhowa is feral horse. We also go for a bird watching tour in the Maguri beel in between and spot large number of birds.

Day 8 Dibrugarh Today is the last day of our tour. After breakfast, we drop you at airport/railway station. With loads of sweet memories, our Assam package tour ends here.
