Honeymoon in Northeast India itinerary

Day 01 Guwahati - Cherrapunji    6 hrs   148 km

Our 10 days Northeast India Honeymoon tour starts upon your arrival at Guwahati railway station/Airport. On arrival, you will be greeted by our representative. Then proceed to Cherrapunji, the land of waterfalls and caves. En-route, visit Umiam Lake. On reaching Cherrapunji, call off the first day of your honeymoon in the Northeast. Check in to the hotel in the evening and spend the night comfortably at Cherrapunji.

Day 02 Cherrapunji Day Tour

This morning, you will be greeted by dense fog in Cherrapunji. After breakfast, start your day with a visit to the most thrilling attractions in Cherrapunji namely Eco Park, Seven Sisters falls, Mawsamai Cave, Nohkalikai Falls and Arwah Cave etc. The day comes to an end with a comfortable stay at a hotel in Cherrapunji.

You can add your attraction to all the destinations. We can add it to your itinerary if time permits.

Day 03 Cherrapunji - Dawki – Mawlynnong - Shillong

After having a restorative breakfast at the hotel and then drive to Asia’s cleanest village, Mawlynnong Village (78 km, 2.5 hours). On reaching Mawlynnong Village walk around the village and witness Balancing Rock, Skywalk and go for a short trek to visit the Single Decker Living Root Bridge in Riwai village.

Have lunch in a homestay and set off to explore the magical beauty of Dawki (1 hr) a bordering town of India located on the Indo-Bangladesh border. On reaching Dawki enjoy boating and glance at the beauty of the Umngot river. Later return to Shillong at around 3 pm and spent the night relaxing at your hotel.

Day 04 Shillong - Guwahati 2.5 hrs   98 km

After a scrumptious breakfast, check out from the hotel and get ready for more fun on this Northeast honeymoon tour. We spend the day admiring the arresting tourist attractions in Shillong. Start your day with a visit to picturesque Wards Lake, Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians and Lady Hydari Park. Then get back to Guwahati. In the evening, relish a refreshing river cruising at the Brahmaputra river. Your reporting time will be 3:30 pm at Cruise point.

After completion of the cruise, you will be dropped off at Guwahati Railway station/airport for your journey to NJP/Bagdogra.

(Note: If you are travelling by train, then an overnight journey is preferable. And if you travel by flight we organize your stay at Guwahati/Siliguri which is suitable.)

Day 05 NJP/Bagdogra - Gangtok

Upon arrival, meet our representative and drive to Gangtok. On arrival at Gangtok, check into the Hotel. Evening free to walk around the town. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 06 Gangtok day tour

Today we will explore the thriving city of Gangtok. Start the day in a relaxing way and after breakfast at the hotel set off for local sightseeing. Start with a visit to Namgyal Institute of Tibetology where you can marvel at the collections of antique and rare Buddhism-related carousel-items and books. Later visit Do Drul Chorten and then enjoy a Ropeway ride.

Post lunch, visit Flower Show, Enchey Monastery, Hanuman Tok, Ganesh tok, Bakthang waterfalls and Tashi View Point. In the evening you can stroll around in the MG market or take rest at your hotel.

Day 07 Gantok - Tshangu lake - Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir - Nathula pass

After having mouth-watering breakfast in the early morning, we will start to visit the Indo-China Border at Nathula Pass(14500 ft). En route stop at Tshangu Lake (40 km) located at an altitude of 12500 ft. and take a photo break and enjoy this exquisite holy lake which remains frozen in the winter months. You can also savor a ropeway ride and take a photo with yaks.

Post that, drive to Nathula Pass (15 km further) and enjoy the mystic view of the place. On return, visit the new Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir and milky white statue of Lord Shiva. Later drive back to Gangtok via the same route (55 km). Retire for the day and spend the night at your hotel.

*Note: Nathula Pass is subjected to the availability of the permit and will be done at an extra additional cost of Rs.4000/-. The pass remains closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Day 08 Transfer to Darjeeling

On day 8 of your honeymoon tour in North east India you will visit the last destination Queen of Hill Darjeeling. After having a symptoms breakfast at hotel drive to Darjeeling via Rangpo, Teesta. Enroute take a lunch break at Lopchu. Upon arrival in Darjeeling, check in to the hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure or stroll around in the Mall. The day comes to an end with a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 09 Darjeeling sightseeing

Early morning (3 am) drive to Tiger Hill (8500 ft) to catch a sunrise view over the mountains. From there, you can catch the view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Khangchendzonga (all above 8000 meters). Later, drive back to Town and return to hotel and treat yourself to a delightful breakfast. Post breakfast, proceeds for a full day sightseeing in Darjeeling city. Start with a visit to the exquisite Ghoom Monastery (Gelug order of Tibetan Buddhism) then Batasia Loop(Gorkha war memorial). Post then visit Japanese Temple, Peace pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute & Happy Valley Tea Estate and Factory. In the evening, free for leisure or amble around the Mall (Chowrasta).

Day 10 Departure to Bagdogra/NJP

On day 10 your Northeast India honeymoon package comes to an end. After having a delightful breakfast at the hotel, check out and drive back to Bagdogra/NJP via Kurseong. You will be dropped off at the airport/rail station according to your flight schedule for your return journey.
