Food tour in Assam Itinerary

Day 1 Guwahati
on arriving at Guwahati airport/railway station our representative will meet and welcome you to your hotel. After some refreshments, we will take you to Kamakhya temple and then take you to a local family where you will learn local food preparation along with cooking and finally testing the complete meal. Today you will learn to cook authentic vegetarian or non-vegetarian dishes according to your choice.

Night stay at Guwahati.


Day 2 Guwahati - Kaziranga National park
Today morning after breakfast we will take you to Kaziranga national park which takes around 5 hrs. On reaching check-in at a hotel. In the evening take some rest and visit a local restaurant/food joint and enjoy a traditional Assamese meal prepared with local vegetables/fish/meat.

Night stay at Kaziranga.


Day 3 Kaziranga National park
Today we will go to explore the vibrant Kaziranga national park which has the highest population of world-famous one-horned rhinoceros. It is home to many flora and fauna and migratory birds. You can go for an early morning elephant safari in the park and explore the deep forest on an elephant's back. After that return to the hotel, and have some refreshments. At around 11 am proceed to Kaziranga orchid park. Where you can explore the culture, dance and food habits of Assam very closely. Here you can get a chance to test a wide range of sweet dishes and awesome Assamese thali which has more than 30 side dishes. After that, you can go on a jeep safari in the park which lasts for 3 hrs. After jeep sari returns to the hotel and takes a rest for the night or goes for a walk around your resort.

Day 4 Kaziranga National park - Majuli
Today morning after breakfast we bid adieu to Kaziranga and proceed to Majuli island. Majuli is the cradle of Assamese culture where you can visit the Neo vaishnavite satras, Mising tribal villages and scenic village life. You will mesmerize by its beautiful landscape and sunset. On reaching check-in at a resort. If time permits we will go for a food tasting tour in a village and relish mising tribe food. Spend the evening at rest or go for a walk around the village.

Day 5

Majuli - Jorhat
Today early morning we will visit the famous stars of Majuli which include Aunati satra, Garmur satra and Samaguri Satra (mask makers satra). Later return to Jorhat on a ferry and proceed to your hotel. Today we will check into an ancient tea bungalow in Assam and experience the life of a tea planter. Spend the evening lively over tea and snacks with a view of tea bushes. Enjoy some local meals at night and take a rest.

Day 6 Jorhat - Departure
Today is the last day of the tour. Start your day with a tea-tasting tour in the bungalow and then move to see a tea estate and see the plucking and processing of tea leaves. Later we bid you goodbye and drop you at Jorhat airport.

RESERVATION TERMS

  • Confirmation of Tour Package is subject to the remittance of 50% of the total tour cost in advance and rest to be paid prior to the commencing of the tour so as to reconfirm all the arrangements on definite arrival basis.
  • Slight alterations in the accommodation may become unavoidable due to unavailability of rooms in mentioned hotels, but the accommodation so provided will be of the same class.
  • Child below 5 yrs stay complimentary.

CANCELLATION & REFUNDS

  • 30 days before the commencement of the tour: 10% of the tour cost will be levied.
  • 15 days before the commencement of the tour: 25% of the tour cost will be levied.
  • Less than 15 days before the commencement of the tour: 50% of the tour cost will be levied.
  • Less than 07 days before the commencement of the tour: 100% of the tour cost will be levied. No refund is entitled "for no-shows".
