How to reach Kaziranga National Park

Kaziranga by Air

Jorhat Airport, also known as Rowriah Airport, is the nearest airport to Kaziranga. It takes 2 hrs(105 km) to reach Kaziranga from Jorhat Airport. Guwahati Airport (LGBI Airport)is the major airport near Kaziranga. It takes around 4 hrs (250 km) to reach Kaziranga from Guwahati. All the major airlines are connected with Guwahati airport from Bagdogra, Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chennai, Bangalore etc. You can hire taxi/cab to reach Kaziranga from Guwahati or Jorhat. Alternatively, you can also reach Kaziranga from Guwahati city by bus. Assam state transport bus plies regularly from Guwahati to Dibrugarh and Jorhat via Kaziranga. Bus service is available in the early morning from 6 am - 9 am and in the afternoon from 5 pm - 10 pm.

Kaziranga by Train

Guwahati is the gateway to North East India and Kaziranga National Park. All major cities of India are well connected to Guwahati via Rajdhani Express and other trains.

You can take Silaghat-Senchowa Broadgauge Passenger Train Service between Guwahati – Silaghat via Jakhalabanda to reach Kaziranga. Jakhalabanda is the nearest station. From Jakhalabanda you need to take either bus or private taxi to reach Kaziranga which is around 30-minute drive.

Furkating is the another major rail station located near Kaziranga. The distance of Furkating station to Kaziranga is 98km(1 hours 30 minutes).

Kaziranga by Road

Kaziranga is situated on NH 37. It is well connected via road from major cities of Assam - Guwahati, Sibsagar, Nagaon, Dibrugarh, Tezpur and Jorhat etc.

The drop off point for bus services is at Kohora on the National Highway 37. Government and private bus operators have regular bus services from Guwahati, Tezpur, Jorhat and other towns of Assam via Kaziranga.
