If you want to get an insight into the culture and history of Mizoram then you must visit The Mizoram State Museum. This place is located centrally and is closed on weekends. If you want to enjoy wildlife and see the hill birds like the Peregrine falcon then Reiek tourist resort is a must visit place. It has beautiful temperate forests. You can also visit the cave of Khuangchera Puk which is located close by.

The Durtlang hills are best for trekking and they give you a bird's eye view of the beautiful hill station. If you love getting closer to nature then visit Champhai which is located at a distance of 192 kms from Aizawl. The place has some of the most amazing view and a traditional Mizo village.

A place called Hmuifang is located 50 km from the capital and is a mountainous region with virgin forests. Enjoy the cultural activities by visiting Berawtlang Tourist Complex. Visit the Solomon's Temple, Aizawl which is well designed and has a natural park within the complex. At the Baktawng Village, you can meet Pu Ziona and his largest family comprising of 39 wives, 94 children, 14 daughters-in-law and 33 grandchildren.

You can go shopping at the Bara Bazar where you can get traditional Mizo costumes and artefacts. There are also goods imported from China which are sold in this market. The place also has a shopping mall.

Lengpui airport is the nearest airport. This airport has good connectivity with cities like Kolkata, Guwahati and Imphal.

Aizawl by railways

The nearest railway station is Silchar which at a distance of 130 kms from where one needs to travel by road.

Aizawl by road

Aizawl is well connected by road with Silchar through NH 54, Agartala through NH 40 and with Imphal through NH 150. One can hire taxis, city buses, private mini buses or cars to travel.
