Welcome to one of the most significant phases of my Assam Tour<\/strong><\/a>, this is Dibru Saikhowa National Park<\/strong><\/a>. Today we headed towards Digboi to reach our next destination Tinsukia<\/strong>. With a thrilling heart, we started our journey in between tea gardens. The place is surrounded by Arunachal Pradesh in the southeast, has multiple National Highways that connect it with the rest of the country. \u00a0Dibru Saikhowa national park is surrounded by three of India’s eastern-most rivers, the mighty Brahmaputra, the Lohit River in the north and Dibru River in the South.<\/p>\n

Stunning park with variety of wild animals and birds<\/h3>\n

we started the day on a good note with a boat trip to the famous Dibru Saikhowa National Park<\/strong>. The park is located on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River. The morning view was simply beautiful with the chirping of the migratory birds all around. We started our journey on foot after coming out of our motorized boat, and our binoculars come handy to spot plenty of birds.<\/em><\/span> We came to know that the park is an abode of some more than 350 species of birds<\/strong>. The park seems untouched by urbanism and is a paradise for those who want to spend a few hours in the lap of Mother Nature. We were delighted when we also spot a few dolphins by luck. With our camera, we clicked a few pictures of birds and the lush greeneries.<\/p>\n

We spent the whole day here and enjoyed the sunset when birds started returning to their nests. There were a few houseboats for an overnight stay but we decided to stay in an \u00a0Eco camp for a comfortable night stay. Eco camps are generally pocket-friendly option to stay here.<\/p>\n

Beautiful temples and an incomplete bridge<\/h3>\n

Next day, we enjoyed our breakfast at our resort. Soon, we were in our cab to visit the Bell Temple also known as Tilinga Mandir<\/strong>. The temple was at an approximate 50 kilometres from our resort. We were thankful to our guide to suggest us to visit the auspicious place. It is a belief that Lord Shiva fulfils all wishes of his devotees who tie a bell on the banyan tree of this temple.<\/p>\n

Spending\u00a0some quality time at the bell temple, we reached the Jagannath temple<\/strong> in Khanikar located in Dibrugarh district of Assam. It took us nearly more than 2 hours to reach the place. The temple was truly magnificent with a height of 85 feet. We were excited to see that it was an exact replica of the Jagannath temple of Puri, Orissa. Soon, we got back into our cab to visit the Radha Krishna temple<\/strong>. It was in close proximity to the Assam Medical College. We were awestruck at the marble stone architecture and the sense of divinity that we experienced within the temple.<\/p>\n

However, time was running out and before sunset, we had to visit the unfinished bridge too. Therefore, we left the temple premises and caught a glimpse of the Bogibeel Bridge<\/strong>. The bridge connects Dhemaji and Dibrugarh. Once finished, it would be the longest railroad link of our country and a jewel in the crown of Assam. \u00a0When we reached the bridge it was almost dark. But the scenic beauty of the bridge and area is mind blowing. \u00a0Even the road leads to the place is also very scenic surrounded by tea garden on both sides. We did not stop me from taking lots of pictures of this bridge. And soon it was night and we have to return back to Dibrugarh town. The double-decker bridge is a technical marvel of railways. I wish it<\/p>\n
